Alameda County Family Justice Center

About us

The Alameda County Family Justice Center (ACFJC) is a new community initiative launched by more than 50 organizations and 150 people who have joined together to provide comprehensive services required by domestic violence victims and their families.

An Urgent Call for Help ~ Domestic violence victims in Alameda County often seek help from a fragmented, disjointed system of separate agencies who offer related but frequently uncoordinated services. They often must travel to several different places to get help, telling their stories many times to various people. Survivors get frustrated, exacerbating their trauma, and may never actually access the range of critical services they need. The cost in suffering and lost human potential to our community is staggering.

Our Response~ We are creating a one-stop center based on a simple premise: if all services for domestic violence victims are located in one place, survivors will more readily access and receive the critical help they need in a timely fashion. Building on the momentum created by funding from the United States Department of Justice President's Family Justice Center Initiative, the Alameda County Family Justice Center (ACFJC), locates under one roof the comprehensive services required by domestic violence victims and their families in a welcoming, user-friendly environment.

Together, we envision a future where~

  • All homes are safe and nurturing;
  • All children and families grow to their full potential, free from the specter of violence and intimidation;
  • All neighborhoods are safe for children, families, and elders at all times;
  • Alameda County reports zero incidences of death and injury from domestic violence; and
  • The human rights of all are respected, valued, and upheld.

ACFJC Mission ~ The mission of the ACFJC is to ensure the safety and healing of domestic violence victims through easily accessible, coordinated, and comprehensive services.

The Alameda County Family Justice Center (ACFJC) and its partner organizations provide a gateway to safety, healing, and self-reliance for victims of domestic violence. The ACFJC serves as the heart of a comprehensive service delivery system that is inclusive and multi-cultural. Together, ACFJC partners deliver coordinated services that are easily accessible through one location. We advocate for and construct a future where there is zero tolerance for domestic violence in Alameda County.
