One Warm Coat Project Supports ACFJC Clients and Their Families

What role can a group of 3rd graders play in our community? A very important one! Students at Thornhill Elementary School in Oakland held a One Warm Coat Drive at their school and collected over 240 coats. These coats were donated to the ACFJC for clients and their families. Coats were given away during our annual KidZone Holiday event and are available through the end of January. We thank Hilary Larkin of Highland Hospital and her daughter who spearheaded this wonderful event. If you have a client in need of a coat please accompany them to the 2nd floor next to the DOVES and JFCS offices where they can pick a coat for themselves and their family.

Volunteer Opportunities

ACFJC Counseling Program

This is a new and great way for MFT interns to earn hours toward licensure. The goal of the ACFJC Counseling Program is to provide immediate crisis counseling to victims. All interns will be supervised by a licensed MFT therapist and will receive two-hours of weekly group supervision. Interns will receive domestic violence training while they participate in this program. Participants may also serve as back-up Client Navigators who do client intake and assessment for clients new to the ACFJC.
