Verizon Grant to the Family Justice Center

Domestic Violence prevention to be highlighted at Golden State Warriors game

Verizon to present $57,500 grant to Alameda County Family Justice Center and collect used wireless phones to benefit more survivors

WHAT: Verizon will collect used wireless phones/accessories from any carrier at the Golden State Warriors game. All phones collected will go the company's HopeLineŽ program which provides financial support and wireless phones with airtime to local domestic violence programs.

Verizon will also present a $57,500 Verizon Foundation grant to the Alameda County Family Justice Center to fund the Domestic Violence Healthcare Provider Mandatory Report and Victim Referral Project. The project will utilize technology to equip healthcare providers in Alameda County with the tools to rapidly refer victims of domestic violence to the full range of medical, legal and social services they need to achieve a safe and healthy home.
